Wax moth larvae are a good food for most all smaller lizards, however they should be used as a supplementary food as they contain a lot of fat. They are also really good for praying mantises and scorpions. They can be kept at room temperature, after about a month they will turn into wax moths, which are also really good food. If you do not want them to turn into moths, they should be kept cool, possibly in the refrigerator, where they can last up to 4 weeks, depending on how fresh they are. If you see black dead wax moth larvae, they should always be removed from the bucket to keep the environment clean.
