Update from Save the Rhino

Update from Save the Rhino

We’re proud to share an update that we have received on the impact of our support for Save the Rhino International and their vital work in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park (HiP), South Africa. Key Achievements in 2024 of Save the Rhino are:

  • 30% decrease in rhino poaching in KwaZulu-Natal compared to 2023.
  • Over 200 camera traps deployed, detecting 76 poaching incidents and leading to multiple arrests.
  • Successful dehorning operations helped reduce poaching pressure.
  • Advanced tracking technology installed on 70+ rhinos, providing valuable data on movement and population trends.
  • The monitoring team expanded, doubling the number of black rhino sightings.
  • Building Capacity for Long-Term Impact

The project also invested in:

  • Training and equipping field rangers.
  • Upgrading infrastructure like the LoRa tracking network.
  • Preparing for the construction of a dedicated rhino monitoring base camp in 2025.
  • A Shared Commitment to Conservation

This collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability and wildlife protection. We’re proud to contribute to a project that not only protects rhinos today but also builds a stronger foundation for their future.
